The award ceremony within the framework of the campaign “Employer of the Year for Persons with Disabilities in the Republic of Srpska 2014”, was held at the restaurant “Integra” in Banja Luka on 11 December. The ceremony was held on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and the International Human Rights Day, organized by the Coordination Committee of the Republic of Srpska disability organizations and people affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases, in cooperation with the Agency for Cooperation, Education and Development (ACED).
The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness of employers and the general public about the possibilities and abilities of persons with disabilities to participate equally in the labor market. Promoting positive examples of employment aims to encourage a process of equalizing opportunities of persons with disabilities in employment, and equal and the best possible participation in the open labor market. Examples of employers who employ persons with disabilities should encourage other employers to change attitudes and to consider the capacity of people with disabilities and provide them with job opportunities.
