Association “Vive Zene” Tuzla is implementing three-year project “Ensuring Access to Justice for Witnesses / Victims through the Strengthening of Existing and Establishment of New Networks of the Support to Witnesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina“. Period of the implementation of the Project is from 1/1/2015 to 31/12/2017, and is funded by European Union.

The Project is implemented by „Vive Zene“Tuzla Association in partnership with three non-governmental organizations: NGO “Medica“ Zenica, Foundation “Udruzene Zene“ Banja Luka and Agency for Cooperation, Education and Development “ACED“ Banja Luka.
As a part of planned Project activities, on 9 February 2015, the meeting of Project coordinators and representatives from UN WOMEN, UNDP, IOM and UNFPA was held in Sarajevo. The aim of the meeting was to explore possibilities for cooperation.
Ms Jasna Zecevic, Programme Manager and “Vive Zene” Director, presented goals and key activities, target groups, implementation are and expected results of the Project. She has also pointed out the plan to establish 9 new and to strengthen 5 existing networks with an aim of offering psycho-social support to all witnesses. It was said on the meeting that project will be implemented in the area of whole BiH and it is, therefore, of an outmost importance to obtain support from all levels of authority.

Project presentation was followed by questions by the side of UN agencies’ representatives. Questions were related to methodology of work in the process of networks establishment. Project Team explained that they plan to use methodology developed by “Medica” and “Vive Zene”, which had been already applied for about 20 years. It is about a psycho-social model which uses networks and education to empower representatives of relevant institutions to understand consequences of trauma and to be able to offer psycho-social support before, during and after the court trial. “ACED” and “Udruzene Zene” will empower NGOs for successful leading and long-duration of networks in local communities.
It has been agreed to organize individual meetings of Project implementers with heads of UN agencies with an aim to share information on detailed activity plan and joint activities.
