Agency for Cooperation, Education and Development ACED, from 1 January 2017, launched a project ,,Balkans independent disability framework III”. This project is funded by the European Union. Beside ACED, this project is also implemented by the BIDF network, Polio Plus from Macedonia, Center for Independent Living of Persons with Disabilities – Serbia and the Association of Paraplegics of Montenegro. The project runs until 31 December 2017.
Overall objective: To contribute to democratic stabilization and EU accession of Balkans countries by strengthening the civil society participation in decision and policy making processes at all government levels.
Specific objective: Strengthening an operational capacity of Balkans Independent Disability Framework – BIDF as an independent regional network of disability organizations established to promote and facilitate the inclusion of disability in policies and practices at the national and regional level.
CO1) Encourage promotion, networking and international cooperation of BIDF network by organizing study tours and visits of the BIDF management board and network representatives with prominent European disability networks and Government authorities and donor community;
CO2) Promote the integration of self-regulation mechanisms, regional and cross-border cooperation by organizing BIDF Management board and BIDF general assembly meetings;
CO3) Promote effective government oversight, accountability and transparency by organizing BIDF Policy Advocacy activities and network promotion
