Agency for Cooperation, education and development ACED Banja Luka organised a workshop as part of the project ,,Reconciliation through history education” for secondary school students in Visoko. This project is funded by the European Union and the goal of the project is to promote peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The workshop which ignited a great interest of the students from Visoko, who had the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly with historic events from 1914. year and the First World War.
“Today we are, in the framework of the project “Reconciliation through history education”, visiting secondary school students from Visoko who are in a large number registered as the participants of this project. The project started yesterday in Breza, where we had a great experience with secondary school students, and today we are very pleased to have the opportunity to be with the representatives of four different highschools and these are: MSŠ “Hazim Sehabovic, highschool “Visoko”, Medresa “Osman ef. Redžović” and ,,Franjevačka gimnazija.” – said Dino Kulic, one of the trainers on this project.
“The aim of the workshop itself is to discuss with secondary school students on events that happened in Sarajevo in 1914, and all the participants of the workshop had the opportunity to look at the documentary film about these events, and after that they discussed about the film. During the workshop the participants have made a several comparisons about event developments in 1914. with current situation, by saying on that occasion that the ideal of the young people is equality, and that should be studied and advocate for a joint history of all people in BiH, in order to come to the final reconciliation.” – said Kulic.
At the end of the workshop, which was led by the trainers MreSVUBiH (network of Student Council of BiH) Samir Puric and Dino Kulic, each school workshop participants allocated to the gift: re-print edition kit books of Vladimir Dedijer “1914”.
