Opening of Center for Economic and Rural Development

Center for economic and rural development to support the economic development of the region through the provision of services to SME`s and other entities in rural areas was opened on 13 October 2016 in Krnete, municipality Laktaši. The Center, which was built on the site of the old school, ceremonial ribbon cutting opened by Mariangela Fittipaldi, the Acting Head of Section for Economic Development, Infrastructure and Natural Resources of the Delegation of European Union to BiH and Miodrag Matavulj, director of the Center for Economic and Rural Development (CERD).

Reconstruction of the old school and the establishment of the Center for Economic and Rural Development is funded by the European Union through the project “Regional growth through economic and rural development – ReGERD”, implemented by the Agency for Cooperation, Education and Development ACED, Banja Luka, the project partners are municipalities Gradiska, Kozarska Dubica, Laktaši and Srbac Association LAG SAVUS, local development agencies Kozarska Dubica and Entrepreneurial University Center Banja Luka. Renovation of the Center is carried out within the project with a total value of 597,638 euros.
Project activities include the provision of services to SMEs, entrepreneurs, and farmers to improve the competitiveness of their companies and products, ensure the development of new markets and opportunities, and improve job creation. The project also strengthens the business environment for entrepreneurs through the establishment of public-private dialogue, merging the economy with academic institutions, the introduction of innovation in the operation of enterprises and the provision of new financial schemes.
