Another civic debate “Stories from Untoldville” was held on 25 June. In the new debate participated 15 students, three of whom were BiH citizens studying outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After the initial presentation, participants were introduced to the topics to be covered in groups. The task of the groups was to find three current topics at the regional and global level. They had 15 minutes to work in groups. This was followed by a presentation of the topic by each group. After the presentations by all groups, the young people noticed that the topic that permeated all groups were events in Montenegro, more precisely the reaction after the decision of the Montenegrin authorities on the new law on church property.
The young people had different comments and attitudes about the real reason for the protest of the Serbian people in Montenegro. Young people also touched on the topic of democracy in the Western Balkans. The discussion ended with relatively similar attitudes regarding the condemnation of the moves of the authorities in Montenegro, but with completely different opinions on the cause of the current events.
At the end, the participants individually answered the question “If I were President of Republika Srpska, what would I change?”. The burning problem of youth unemployment, which has been in the center of media and public attention, was highlighted.
After the discussion, the organisers thanked the participants for their response, and above all for the freedom in conversations that they showed throughout the debate and their active work.
